T. Dot- Dundas Square

You could only imagine what it’s like for me as a small island girl moving to a big city like Toronto. Yeah…it was a big transition for me. From being surrounded by couch shells, sand, the salty sea, to the smell of street meat, fast on going taxis and people in business suits running around everywhere. This was my life now. When I first arrived to Canada back in August 2012, I was fascinated by this particular place in the city. This spot soon became my favorite place to be at, Yonge-Dundas Sqaure.

How the Square became My Favorite Place

Have you ever looked at something and were just taken away by its beauty? That's how I felt when I first stumbled in the midst of the Square. I remembering getting off the subway and I didn't know where I was going. I was still so fresh to the city life, that all I wanted to do was explore. I ended up walking around the Eaton Centre and right when I exited the door, there it was. As I was making my way across the street, all of the colorful lights, the music, and the people, captivated me. Did I forget to mention it was nighttime? So the city was quite lit, it was beautiful. It reminded me that I wasn't so lonely living in the city. This place became my favorite place to go at night. Whether it’s during the week or on the weekend, this place became the spot I went to escape from myself.

Why the Square is the Place to be

This public Square between Yonge and Dundas, is known for having various happenings going on. This ranges from special events, fun activities, community celebrities, promotions and the list goes on! There is something always booming in the heart of Toronto! Not to mention the many shopping amenities, restaurants, Eaton Centre and Cinema that surrounds Dundas Square. It really makes it, the number one place to be in the city. You should really check it out if you haven't already and if you have, what are somethings you like about Dundas Square? Do you enjoy going at night like me or are you more of a day kind of person? Let me know.
