My Experience at Toronto FC’s Last Game of the Season

On Sunday, October 28th, I was at BMO Field for Toronto FC’s final game of the 2018 season. After a difficult season, one in which Toronto FC struggled from start to finish, the Reds were hoping to end the season on a high note, which is exactly what they did.
The Game
Sunday’s game was Fan Appreciation Day at BMO Field, and they had plenty of activities and giveaways for fans to enjoy. Upon entrance to the stadium, the first 10, 000 fans received a free toque, and after the game, fans received a free Snickers chocolate bar on the way out. I got to the stadium slightly later than expected, so I just missed out on the free hats, but luckily someone I know that works at the stadium hooked me up with one after the match. The game itself was an incredible experience, as Toronto won the match 4-1. Sebastian Giovinco’s goal to make the score 4-1 was an incredible goal and can be found by clicking here.
Meeting the Players
After the match had ended, my friend Matthew and I decided to try and get photos with some players as they were exiting the stadium. Many players were kind enough to spend time with all the fans who had lined up to try and see them, and we were lucky enough to meet many players, including the captain Michael Bradley (pictured, left) and 2010 World Cup finalist Gregory van der Wiel (pictured, right). More of my photos from the evening can be found in my Instagram post.

  3. Aw, this is really nice, it sounds like you had a great time. I've only ever been to a basketball game, but after reading this and the great time you had at this game, I should try other sports games. It was nice seeing pictures you and a couple team players.
