Quick and Easy Self-Care Tips for Students

Hi there! My name is Maddy, and I am in my first year of college. I am currently living in residence and it is certainly a huge adjustment. Being a student on a budget isn’t the easiest thing in the world, and it can be easy to neglect your physical and mental health. Here are things you can do for healthier and happier college experience.
1. At Home Yoga. Yoga is known to be an excellent way of relieving stress. Not only is it amazing for the body, but the mind as well. There are many free online yoga classes that cab be taken from the comfort of your own bedroom. My personal favourite is Yoga with Adrienne
2. Eat More Plant-Based Foods. Eating fewer animal products is guaranteed to make you feel better. Plant-based diets have been proven to lower risk of disease and improve mental health . And beans, chickpeas and lentils are MUCH cheaper than meat.
3. Unplug From Your Devices. Taking some time away from devices can have a huge impact on physical and mental well being. According to Berkeley University, less screen time will lead to improved sleep and productivity!
4. Get Outside. A study published by Harvard University revealed that as little as five minutes outdoors can improve mood and self-esteem! It's amazing what a bit of sunshine and fresh air can do!
5. Keep An Organized Work Space. Maintaining a clean, tidy living space is KEY! Take some time to clean and organize your room or office to reduce stress and boost productivity!

I adore these tips, as they REALLY work for me) Especially yoga at home, since it allows get rid of stress while working on final assignments in the end of the semestr...Also, eating plant- based fruit works for me, because I found out that eating fruit makes me more energetic and cheers my mood) Thank you for these tips!
