Dubai, the Emirate full of excitement!
Arriving in Dubai, I was completely speechless. It was an amazing experience and I would want to visit the UAE many more times. My brother has been to Dubai many times, so he had a good idea where to stay and where we can actually have a great time. Dining at the best restaurants, visiting the oldest parts of the city, it really is an admirable place.
Dubai is full of great opportunities. Even though
being surrounded around political unrest in the region it is located in, it is
still by far one of the safest places to reside in the world. Dubai has a large
percentage of expatriates.
Below are a couple of the places I visited during
my stay:
Burj Khalifa – Located in downtown
Dubai surrounding many other popular skyscrapers and is named after the current
president of the UAE. I was really fascinated by the seating area at the Burj
where you can sit and enjoy the fountain show. A server welcomed us and brought
us dry fruits and tea. My family friend who owns and operates a real estate agency
in Dubai also showed me the 16th floor which had an Armani design
and also an apartment that his company had bought at that time.
The Dubai Mall- I had a great time at the
Dubai Mall with my family, the food court itself is just amazing, it was the
first time I had tried The Cheesecake Factory in the Middle East. There is over
hundreds of stores to shop from, and you can even check out the ice skating
rink while your there.
Atlantis, The Palm- Staying here for three nights, I can truly say this was an all out fun filled extraordinary experience, from the great room service, the Aquaventure Water park, Nasimi Beach and The Lost Chambers Aquarium. It’s basically another city, there are so many restaurants and other activities one can indulge in.
Deira, Dubai- One of the most traditional places I’ve ever been too, being from a middle eastern backround, I really liked the colorful shops around the streets, it reminded me of some of the stories I hear from my parents. Being apart of the old part of Dubai, it is also where a lot of trade happens, the Gold Souk and Dubai Creek are also located in Deira. The cultural side of Deira includes, spice and Masala shops, Arabic restaurants, clothing stores and much more.
Dubai Marina- I feel it can be explored at anytime during the day or night
due to the fact that restaurants and lounges are open late. Being surrounded by
commercial and residential buildings, it has a very unique design, mainly
because it’s more of a relaxed environment and people can certainly have a great
time.
